H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth currently serves as the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, a position he has held since April 2020. In his role, he has been instrumental in the development and implementation of key laws and regulatory policies, including the Digital Government Policy, the Draft Law on Cybersecurity, the Draft Postal Law, and the Digital Startup Subdecree. Minister Vandeth has shown a commitment to a significant overhaul of the ministry's functions and operations through strategic reforms. These include the implementation of digital skills training programs for officials, and an effective revision of administrative procedures through the adoption of digital technology. Minister Vandeth's recent initiatives have highlighted his emphasis on improving telecommunications service quality. He has fostered a productive relationship with telecom operators to expand cell and network coverage across the country. As part of his efforts to promote digital connectivity and digital literacy, Minister Vandeth is spearheading the establishment of community tech centers at high schools across the country. His commitment to human capital development is evident in the launch of scholarship and financial programs that aim to cultivate a skilled workforce for the digital age. Furthermore, he is overseeing the rollout of vital digital platforms and solutions through the Digital Government Committee to streamline governmental functions and services. H.E. Dr. Vandeth brings with him over 25 years of governmental experience across various roles. His career trajectory includes serving as an assistant to H.E. Sok An, Office Chief of Economy, and Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations. His portfolio expanded to include the role of Director of the Cabinet of the Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers (OCM) and an advisor to the government. H.E. Chea Vandeth graduated with a PhD in Economics from Russia in 1997. He also holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
